At a recent Taste Kitchen hosted by Micki, we collected anonymous evaluations of the desserts served. Here is a small sample of what they had to say:

Are you sure there is no shortening or butter? No way!

I am never going to stop eating desserts. Especially now that I can have them a little more healthier.

30% less fat and the fat is good fat? WOW!

They are lower in fat and calories? Now I will have to eat twice as much!

The Cinnamon twisties we fluffy, light and yummy.

I couldn't even tell a difference with the Rice Crispy Treats!

(The Oatmeal Pecan Chewies) are addictive, very rich, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside.

Loved the All American Apple Pie - Best apple pie I've ever tasted. Especially the crust! How'd you do that?

I've never been a fan of  Lemon Meringue Pie, until now. It tastes gourmet! I want the book!

And a special note from a guest at the Taste Kitchen, sums it all up:

What a great idea!! I'm so glad I could come and taste those yummy desserts. I am well aware that heart disease is the #1 killer of both men and women and to be able to replace the saturated fat with monounsaturated fat is a great step in the right direction of making healthier lifestyle choices. I love sweets and they will always be a part of my life (in moderation, of course) and to know that I can have the same delicious and satisfying taste in a dessert made with a healthier fat is exciting. Wow, I'm impressed! I had no idea the potential of olive oil in making sweet treats. Thanks for showing an olive oil novice new possibilities. I can't wait to buy your book!

Oh, the Chocolate Sin Cookies (whole grain, olive oil, rolled in powdered sugar with dark chocolate chunk in the middle) are a hit no matter where we take them! We've had rave reviews from dinner guests, neighbors, school teachers, young children, judges (on a cooking school project my oldest daughter did - those were the ones you made FOR us, the first time, remember Micki?? :) No one believes they are whole grain or made with olive oil and everyone who we finally convince, wants to know the genius behind the recipe! Thanks, Micki!!

Thank you so much for the desserts you sent today. They were wonderful! I think the Lemon Sugar Cookie was the first one I've had that I could not taste the baking soda in. The lemon also tasted natural, not imitation. The Lemon Pie was also very nice. I liked the cinnamon in the crust, it gave it a little contrast to the tartness of the lemon. Thank you again for the opportunity to taste your desserts, I'm excited to check out your cook book.

Wow, what a treat. Thanks for making that luscious and gorgeous Apple Pie for the potluck. I carried a slice around to stick under people’s noses. It was so yummy. I can’t get over how wonderful the crust is, and made with olive oil. I always thought (and was lead to believe) the olive oil taste would not work for anything that wasn’t savory. So I would never have tried it for a dessert. Really yummy. I would be interested in the cookbook. Thanks for the sample. I want more!
